SLSWA Training and Education Division provides all Western Australians with the opportunity to learn first aid. With over 100 years’ experience in saving lives, SLSWA first aid training brings a wealth of first aid knowledge and skills to all of its First aid courses. SLSWA offers both private and public first aid courses that will deliver the right level of first aid skill to you and your group.

SLSWA first aid courses in WA can be delivered to you as an individual through our public course program or onsite to your family, community and colleagues in your workplace if you have a minimum group of 8 people. SLSWA provide flexible training days and times to meet your needs. We pride ourselves on our trainers enthusiastic course delivery and our ability to make first aid training easy and a great experience for all participants.

All funds generated through First Aid Training with Surf Life Saving WA are reinvested into our 20,600 volunteer members and 30 Surf Clubs.

USI Number Information

UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI) 

The Australian Government has created a National database which will provide candidates with access to their personal Vocational Education training (VET) records. This only applies to certificates with a unit of competency attached. Candidates of all VET courses require a USI number to participate in training, including First Aid courses.

Registered Training Organisations (RTO) are required to collect the USI numbers of all accredited course candidates. Without the USI number certificates of competency cannot be issued.

To create a USI number please go to www.usi.gov.au and enter the required information. One of the following forms of identification will be required to complete the USI registration. 

  • Drivers License
  • Medicare Card
  • Australian Passport
  • Visa (with Non-Australian Passport) for international students eg. Birth certificate (Australian)
  • Certificate of Registration by Descent eg. Citizenship Certificate
  • Immicard
